Should I, shouldn’t I? – I travel in circles
Feeling nervous about proposing is completely normal. After all, there’s nothing easy about getting down on one knee and asking the love of your life a question that will change the course of your future. How do you even know if it’s the right time or even the right person?
If the idea of living without them is unbearable, then there is your answer. If you both are truly in love, then the answer is nothing to worry about. But just because you know she is going to say yes does not mean you don’t need put in a lot of work. Now it is a matter of proposing in the best possible way, as this will be a moment that neither of you will ever forget, hopefully for all the right reasons.
For one, the proposal needs to be a surprise, and preferably a unique one with personal touches, not just something cheesy you found on the internet. You’re asking someone to become your lifelong partner and you need to show that you mean it. By incorporating things you’ve learnt about her through your relationship, such as her interests, passions, likes and dislikes, you can tailor make the perfect proposal. Don’t be too brazen, because the last thing you want is her to swallow the ring in her glass of champagne, or bite into her favorite cake and chip her tooth on the rock. Keeping the ring safe at all times is one of the most important parts of the proposal – no ring equals no proposal.

You also need to remember that this moment is one that she will be telling to almost everyone who will listen, not just now but for years to come. Romance is key in this moment, as it symbolizes your love for each other. You will be nervous, that is guaranteed, but focus on the exciting adventure you are about to embark on with your favorite person. The nerves and anxiety are all going to be worth it when you gaze up from one knee and see the smile on her face. After all, it is your love that matters, and this is the time to show it.
